I am meeting wonderful people in Germany and an learning so much. Each day, I am exposed to various philosophies, ideas, experiences, and possibilities.
One of my hostesses is a music psychotherapist. She and I played music together with various instruments in her studio. We conversed with music...a deeper conversation than words. Music allows people to connect on a deeper level than mere words.
Later, Ulrike and I discussed the value of confidence and building steps to take risks. She uses musical instruments to help her clients build confidence. When one has good experiences, no matter how small, this can lead to confidence to try new things, even more. Ultimately, connecting with new actions leads to the development of new ideas! This is good.
Ulrike reminds me to make confidence to take risks. Taking risks often takes time before feeling secure enough to make a change in one's life. However, taking risks leads to new possibilities and new ideas.
This afternoon, I ate at a delightful restaurant in Düsseldorf, Germany. There was a big sign on the wall that referred to taking risks before you receive the prize/biscuit! I was told that the owner of this restaurant changed careers in mid-life. Her former life revolved around the hectic life of fashion merchandising, and now, she owns a restaurant for healthy eating. The owner took a risk, and the reward seems to be great!
Without a doubt, I have stepped out of my comfort zone and am taking some risks to travel 40 days in foreign countries without sleeping in a hotel...yet, the risks are worth it! The sign in the restaurant proves to be true!
