Yes, I hitchhiked in Europe!

In Greece, the temperatures were very hot. The temperature was 38 degrees Celsius...which is a little over 100F, when I decided to travel to a high elevation.

I visited monasteries that were built on top of mountains, many years ago by monks. Perhaps they built them so high to be as close to God, as possible.

Anyway, my plan was to hike down the mountain. After walking a good distance down the mountainous road, I was approached by a car with a Russian family. They asked if I would like a lift. I graciously declined.

As time went on, with no shade and extreme foot pain, I wondered why I had declined the offer. Actually, I strongly regretted my decision to say "no." The beating sun and sore feet were testing me to my limits. I made a decision...I must hitchhike...and so I did. Why not! It took several tries but eventually a car stopped; a Norwegian man and his son drove me safely down the mountain.
