My Thai Massage in Germany

I had only 5 minutes between train connections. Not a problem if you're single, but I'm married to my suitcases... which means wherever I go... they go. The train station was small and old. The idea of an elevator or escalator was way too primitive to be reality. Therefore, I must run the obstacle course between train platforms and man-handle the luggage in record time up the endless stairs. Unfortunately, my body did not like that plan. I managed the weighted bags up the stairs, just as I saw my train chugging away. I had missed my train. Oh what a pity! My body's response...pain. I could barely walk...I had pulled a muscle...apparently one that I did not know I had.

My first mission (after catching the next train, of course) was to get a massage. I was thrilled when I saw a sign for a Thai massage. I climbed a set of stairs to an apartment in the direction of the arrow. It did NOT seem to be a very popular place, as I was the only customer.

The Thai woman spoke no English, yet I understood the idea was to remove my clothes (except underwear.) She stood there waiting... holding a huge pair of pants, that three large men could fit in at the same time. I wondered what I was to do. These pants seem to have no purpose, especially for a massage. There was no point asking questions, for she didn't speak English, and I didn't speak Thai. I put the mammoth pants on, and she took a string and tied it around the pants multiple times to hold them in place.

Next, the woman gave me a course men's shirt to put on. Basically, it was a thick course garment, perhaps from the military. I wondered how I could possibly feel the massage with all of my armor, but mostly I was wondering why I was paying many Euros for this sterile experience.

No, I did not have a relaxing experience, and no, I never could feel the massage. How could I?, I was dressed like a knight. However, my arms and legs were pulled in such a way that after an hour, I could walk again, without pain. I suppose the moral of the story is that there is even possibility with an armored massage.
