Finding something you don't expect!

I was told over and over again to taste Pasteis de Belem while in Lisbon. So one evening, I made a two hour round trip from the palace that I was staying to indulge in this special pastry of the region.Why Not! Pasteis de Belem has been around since 1837.

The sweet treat was delightful but even more so were the kind Portuguese young people that shared time with me. They were all bilingual and very friendly. They were the best find!
